Flooding is now the most common natural disaster across the world, accounting for 40 percent of all the threats nature currently presents. Rapid and often unplanned urban development, combined with the increasingly devastating impacts of climate change and severe weather events are just some of the contributing factors which shows that flood management is more multi-disciplinary than anything else. Flood management solutions often provide benefits across the society if done well.
Studio Flow aims at developing integrated and sustainable solutions to manage flood risk by engaging with communities, government agencies and private sector companies.
Our projects:
On behalf of the World Bank DRM team, I lead the development of an Integrated Flood Resilience Strategy for Vientiane and Pakxan cities in Lao PDR., and Siem Reap and Angkor Heritage Site in Cambodia. The TA in particular focuses on providing technical assistance to the government agencies in developing analytical tools to assess and quantify the flood risk, along with identifying technical solutions for resilient flood risk management infrastructure.
